Mego Planet of the Apes. Up for sale is a nice original 1970s Mego Planet of the Apes Peter Burke on a T-2 body (Plastic Joints). Best of all this is a rare variant with orange colored hair and the hair color that is definitely factory done with no other color underneath.

I've included pics with some of the other Planet of the Apes figures (not included) to show the different hair colors that were made including the dark hair Burke. It's close to the Dr. Zaius hair color, but just a slight different tint. The back of the head is stamped "1974 20th Century Fox Film Corp".

The head stamp is normally says "1974 Mego Corp" for U. Releases made in Hong Kong.

This most likely means it was an international release possibly Palitoy/Bradgate or just a rare variant model not seen to often. The body is stamped Mego Pat. Pending, which is standard for U. This figure comes all the original cloths - pants, shirt, vest and reproduction moccasins. Overall the figure is clean and the clothing is in great shape.
