PLANET OF THE APES METAL LUNCHBOX AND PLASTIC THERMOS from Aladdin Industries 1974. This very rare R-7 embossed lunchkit is based on the short-lived 14-epsiode TV series on CBS.

Storyline: Based on the original 1968 POTA movie - Hurled 1,100 years into the future, astronauts Alan Virdon and Pete Burke find themselves in a society where humans are subservient to super-intelligent apes. Their situation is made more bearable by Galen (played here by Roddy McDowall), a young sympathetic chimp who comes to question whether humans are, indeed, an inferior species. Another artistic masterpiece by AL art director Elmer Lehnhardt with his awesome use of color and characters. This is some truly incredible artwork! One of our all-time favorite TV-based kits and an extremely hard one to find in this minty condition.

Simply a must-have for any fan of this popular and continuing sci-fi franchise! Condition: Box and Thermos are complete and correct (including original wire thermos holder). Box lithos are clean and glossy throughout - without blemishes to the raised areas so typical with these vintage embossed boxes. Panels are pristine - with very.

Light shelf wear on rims and no corner dents or dimples. Inside is very clean and free of any previous owner markings. Box in overall Near Mint C-9 condition. Thermos decals are clean and glossy throughout - in overall Near Mint C-9 condition.
